In one of its definitions, digital transformation can be described as the acceleration of business activities, processes, competencies and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies and their impact in a strategic and prioritized way.
 
Regardless of the many definitions or descriptions that digital transformation might have, the real value that everybody seeks is to improve business outcome. This is true whether the organization is a government department or a private sector enterprise.
 
The main takeaway from all digital transformation definitions is that it is a long and an ongoing process; or we may call it a journey. The e-government program fits this definition accurately. It, the e-government program, should be viewed as a transformation journey that brings government services from a status to completely another status. It is much more than implementing few computer applications or electronics services by government agencies. It is a process that deeply touches the three basic pillars of any business being people, product or technology, and process, or what may be called the 3Ps.
 
NoufEXPO, in Collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), will hold the 5th E-Government Forum – Digital Transformation from 05 – 07 November 2017 at Arraya Ballroom of Courtyard Marriott Hotel at Kuwait City. The Forum will focus on Digital Transformation as the journey that government agencies should undergo to be able to achieve the objective of the e-government program set by the government. EGOV5 will discuss the basic characteristics of digital transformation, its requirements, its success factors, and the pitfalls or risks that need to be considered and mitigated along the way.
 
 
 

Objectives

The e-Government Forum targets management and technical staff of IT government agencies. This year’s event will focus on the various aspects that organizations should consider while embarking on a digital transformation journey. IT managers and professionals will be provided with a much clear view of what awaits them during that journey. Particularly, the Forum will:
 
  • Provide a better understanding of digital transformation and its mandating factors.
  • Help professionals understand and mitigate the risks or and pitfalls expected along the way.
  • Provide expert views from leading global IT, business, and consulting vendors who managed to drive other e-government organizations forward.
  • Explore new technology trends that affect e-Services and hence, implementation of the e-government program of the State of Kuwait how these trends may help digital transformation.

E-Services Excellence Award

For the second year during the opening ceremony of the e-Government Forum, the e-Services Excellence Award will be provided for the government agency that have deployed the best e-Service on Kuwait Government Online (www.e.gov.kw), the e-Government portal of the State of Kuwait. CAIT is preparing the final terms & conditions of the Award and all details will be shortly communicated to all government agencies.
 
Objective
e-Services Excellence Award aims at:
  • Promoting best policies and efforts within government agencies.
  • Encouraging government agencies’ senior management to speed up development of their e-government initiatives.
  • Building a professional platform of collaboration among government agencies led by CAIT.

Mahmoud holds this position since June 2017 and is based in Dubai. Mahmoud is also The Regional Partner Manager of Xerox MEA since July 2013. Mahmoud manages the Xerox channels’ activities and initiatives in the Middle East. He manages all aspects of business development activities, strategic pricing, comprehensive sales management process and training initiatives in more than 10 countries comprising the Middle East region. Mahmoud works closely with distributors’ general managers across the Middle East to create a balanced ecosystem with the highest standard of technology offering, total customer satisfaction and robust processes. Prior to Xerox, Mahmoud worked for Arabian Office Automation between 2005 and 2013 as an Executive Director, responsible for establishing business operations in The Jordanian and North African Markets. Mahmoud is a graduate of Ursinus, PA Business school in The United States of America studying Business & Computer Science. Faud Khan is a Canadian cybersecurity industry veteran. He has over 23 years of applied experience in leading project-based security consulting engagements. As the Chief Security Officer at Red Canari, he is responsible for product strategy and security, architecture, deployment and service delivery. Mr. Khan has industry experience across all three levels of government, finance, technology, pharmaceuticals and health care. His project experience includes building global Security Operations Centres to monitor, assess and defend enterprise information systems. Over his career, Mr. Khan has worked on security network architecture and application delivery through the Internet. With a focus on mobile, DNSSEC, smart grid, and cloud computing, his work is at the forefront of security risk management. He has been granted four patents and has ten patents pending. Osama Abduo is a Systems Engineer at for Fortinet Middle East based in Kuwait. Osama is supporting the sales of Fortinet products enabling business agility through IT security improvement. Previously, Osama worked in Gulf Business Machine (GBM) Kuwait as Technical Consultant for the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) in Kuwait contributing his expertise about the latest security technologies against cyber threats to the technical team.
