About EGOV5

In one of its definitions, digital transformation can be described as the acceleration of business activities, processes, competencies and models to fully leverage the changes and opportunities of digital technologies and their impact in a strategic and prioritized way.

Regardless of the many definitions or descriptions that digital transformation might have, the real value that everybody seeks is to improve business outcome. This is true whether the organization is a government department or a private sector enterprise.

The main takeaway from all digital transformation definitions is that it is a long and an ongoing process; or we may call it a journey. The e-government program fits this definition accurately. It, the e-government program, should be viewed as a transformation journey that brings government services from a status to completely another status. It is much more than implementing few computer applications or electronics services by government agencies. It is a process that deeply touches the three basic pillars of any business being people, product or technology, and process, or what may be called the 3Ps.

NoufEXPO, in Collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), will hold the 5th E-Government Forum – Digital Transformation from 05 – 07 November 2017 at Arraya Ballroom of Courtyard Marriott Hotel at Kuwait City. The Forum will focus on Digital Transformation as the journey that government agencies should undergo to be able to achieve the objective of the e-government program set by the government. EGOV5 will discuss the basic characteristics of digital transformation, its requirements, its success factors, and the pitfalls or risks that need to be considered and mitigated along the way.

Objectives

The e-Government Forum targets management and technical staff of IT government agencies. This year’s event will focus on the various aspects that organizations should consider while embarking on a digital transformation journey. IT managers and professionals will be provided with a much clear view of what awaits them during that journey. Particularly, the Forum will:

  • Provide a better understanding of digital transformation and its mandating factors.
  • Help professionals understand and mitigate the risks or and pitfalls expected along the way.
  • Provide expert views from leading global IT, business, and consulting vendors who managed to drive other e-government organizations forward.
  • Explore new technology trends that affect e-Services and hence, implementation of the e-government program of the State of Kuwait how these trends may help digital transformation.

When work flows, the results can be powerful. While organizations have ambitions for a lean and agile digital future, their present is still weighed down by paper. Not only does this undermine productivity by perpetuating slow and expensive manual processes, it’s oh-so wasteful: easily half of the paper we print at work is used once, then thrown away. Surely we can do better. The presentation will highlight steps to achieve better digitalization results.

Title: ‘Evolving Incident Response to Cope with Digital Transformation’ This session will address the following: Cyber-attacks are not new, but the scale of their impact has greatly grown with the proliferation of connected devices and systems that share data. The benefits of digital transformation are undisputed. But as technology continues to evolve, so does the attack sophistication, and organizations need to constantly test and improve their defenses. It is no longer a question of how to avoid being hacked, but how to react to it once it has happened. The policies, frameworks, and technologies that have guarded the organizations so far may not be sufficient to address this new and intensifying digital risk. Organizations need new methods of threat detection, analysis, and elimination to support their digital transformation strategies and keep hackers at bay. Keeping pace with cyber threats will require organizations to be more proactive and collaborative; and start to think not just beyond the known and unknown risks of today, but also those appearing on the horizon.
